Guardian Program

Our guardian home program seeks to transition soon-to-be retiring parents into loving family homes near the completion of their breeding careers. Many of our client families fall in love with the parents of their puppy and express the desire to adopt them upon retirement. These and other vetted families are given the opportunity to adopt one of our goldendoodle or labradoodle parents free of charge.

Details

In exchange, New London Doodles retains the rights to breed one and in select cases two additional litters within our breeding program. Upon the completion of breeding, New London Doodles will transfer full ownership to the guardian family. We differ from traditional guardian home programs in that our families will be adopting a mature goldendoodle or labradoodle from us vs. a puppy and have to fulfill a much shorter breeding contract (1-2 litters vs. 3-6 litters). Many of the same guardian home requirements apply but with less long term commitment before legal ownership is transferred. Most of our retiring parents will be moms but occasionally we will also retire a dad with retained breeding rights. New London Doodles covers all costs related to breeding and care while parent dog is physically with us. Otherwise, the guardian family is responsible for all other veterinary and care costs just as they would a family pet.
